Additional observations after further testing: - The problem is reproducible. - It occurs both when selecting "Power Off" from GNOME and when running: sudo systemctl poweroff - systemd-logind reports: "The system will power off now." "System is powering down." - The system reaches poweroff.target successfully. - The display turns off. - The fan stops. - The power LED turns off. - Approximately 1–3 seconds later the notebook automatically powers on again.
Additional troubleshooting performed: - Disabled all available ACPI wake sources in /proc/acpi/wakeup before shutdown. - RTC wakealarm is empty. - Wake-on-LAN disabled. - USB devices disconnected. - Battery only. - AC adapter connected. - The behaviour is unchanged. Windows comparison: Windows 11 on the same machine shuts down correctly and remains powered off. This issue has existed across multiple BIOS versions. The motherboard has already been replaced twice by Lenovo service.
