Tbh, this bug should 1) never have happened and 2) took way too long to
fix.

Imagine all the less knowledgeable folks with a 6000 series GPU that
have now switched to a different OS because from one day to the next
their system become completely unusable without being able to fix it.

Ubuntu should have put a huge "known issue" post on their front page
with the issue and how to temporarily fix it while a fix is being worked
on.
