Well, the issue is specific to use TLS connections, and having an error result when connection to said irc server using TLS. So if you do not use TLS connections, you do not connect to irc servers that are using wrong certificates, expired certs, changed their server names, ... You wouldn't hit the problem. I hit this issue several times a day, and with being on 3 different irc server networks, each having lists of servers >20. That is not something I am going update myself, and make sure every server is using a proper tls certificate.
Once a tls error happens, since there is no cleanup of that connection, that connection goes into a 100% cpu busy loop and well, hexchat ui becomes iffy at best. Unrelated, I'm not sure why, I have not had this issue, is relevent. The issue is documented, the fix has been generated, and just cause your system does not follow the path that produces the bug, due to not using tls, or not using servers with bad certificates, does not mean the bug does not exist. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2024405 Title: Hexchat UI elements go black, reappear when scrolled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hexchat/+bug/2024405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
