Hey there! Thanks for the bug report. It seems that this is caused by a
mismatch in the GNOME package environment. Would you mind giving me the
output of the following commands?
# Here we see where the packages are installed from
$ apt-cache policy mutter-common gnome-session-bin gnome-settings-daemon
gnome-initial-setup libadwaita-1-0
# This will show us your system's current sources
$ grep -R --line-number --no-filename \
-E '^(deb|Types:|Suites:|URIs:)' \
/etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ 2>/dev/null
# This will show whether your system has any held packages
$ apt-mark showhold
