Public bug reported:
After upgrading linux-generic-hwe-24.04 from 7.0.0-34.34~24.04.1 to
7.0.0-38.38~24.04.4, two display regressions appeared on an AMD Radeon RX 7600
(ASRock Challenger OC), dual monitor setup:
1. With a second monitor connected via DisplayPort (DP->HDMI cable, Philips
193V)
but powered off, the primary monitor (Samsung S24D332H on HDMI) shows a
flickering horizontal stripe whenever screen content updates.
Powering on the second monitor makes it go away.
2. The Samsung S24D332H is now set to 1920x1080 @ 74.97 Hz by default.
On 7.0.0-34 it defaults to 60 Hz.
Booting back into 7.0.0-34 makes both issues disappear, so this looks like a
regression in the amdgpu display code between these two kernels.
System: Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon (Ubuntu 24.04 base), X11, Biostar H510MH/E 2.0.
Attached: dmesg and xrandr --verbose from both kernels, lspci output.
** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
