Public bug reported:
using 'sudo do-release-upgrade'
the upgrade fails at:
-----
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This may be caused by unofficial packages installed on the system.
Please try replacing the following packages with official versions
from the Ubuntu archive, and then try the upgrade again.
kgamma5
Restoring original system state
-----
This upgrade is being attempted on a Microsoft Surface. At one point I
had a PPA for a kernel adapted for MS Surface use. That PPA was removed
well before this upgrade attempt.
To be clear, I am not using unofficial packages for KDE.
Just in case, I attempted to reinstall kgamma5 using:
sudo apt install -reinstall kgamma5
This command runs correctly.
