Tested using procedure in comment 2 with one adjustment. The device path was
changed from /tmp to /dev due to /tmp being mounted with the nodev option.

Baseline (linux-image-7.0.0-1020-nvidia-64k/resolute-proposed 7.0.0-1020.20
arm64)

/usr/src/linux-nvidia-
headers-7.0.0-1020/include/uapi/linux/pps.h:#define PPS_MAX_SOURCES
16 /* should be enough... */

openat(AT_FDCWD, "/dev/pps-test255", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = -1 ENXIO (No
such device or address)

Candidate (linux-image-7.0.0-1022-nvidia-64k/resolute-proposed 7.0.0-1022.23
arm64)

/usr/src/linux-nvidia-
headers-7.0.0-1022/include/uapi/linux/pps.h:#define PPS_MAX_SOURCES
256 /* should be enough... */

openat(AT_FDCWD, "/dev/pps-test255", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = -1 ENODEV (No
such device)

Test result good.
