Hi Ross, Checking my dpkg logs and package history, I was previously running the Linux 6.x series (up through 6.17.0-40-generic / 6.14 / 6.11) where this issue did not occur.
The problem started when the system upgraded to the 7.0 branch: - Last stable kernel series: 6.17 (e.g. 6.17.0-40-generic) - First broken versions: 7.0.0-34-generic and the recent 7.0.0-38-generic The entire 7.0.0 generic branch appears to have introduced this regression with the legacy radeon driver (Turks / Radeon HD 7670M) when running under Wayland, causing intermittent blanking/black frames during buffer swaps in Electron and Chromium-based apps. Please let me know if you would like me to test a specific kernel build or bisect commits between 6.17 and 7.0. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169102 Title: [Regression] Window flickering and blanking on Electron/Chromium apps under Wayland with legacy radeon driver (Radeon HD 7670M) on kernel 7.0.0-34-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2169102/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
