fortran-regex 1.1.2-13ubuntu1 and fortran-stdlib 0.8.1-3ubuntu1 are uploaded with the per-package workaround (Build-Depends: gfortran).
Going forward, a better place for this is dh-fortran, which already carries an Ubuntu delta: Package: dh-fortran Depends: ..., gfortran | fortran-compiler, ... -> Depends: ..., gfortran, ... gfortran is dh-fortran's default compiler (FC_DEFAULT), so it should always be installed when dh-fortran is. With the alternative, any package that also build-depends on flang-NN or lfortran (which "Provide: fortran-compiler") ends up without gfortran on Launchpad and fails in dh_auto_clean with "fc compiler gfortran is broken". Fixing it in dh- fortran covers all current and future dh-fortran users, so we don't have to carry deltas in each of them, and the next package hitting the same case won't need another round of debugging. Debian isn't affected because its buildds only install the first alternative of build- dependencies, which is why this hasn't shown up there. Tested in a stonking container: dh-fortran 0.85ubuntu3 + that one-line change (0.85ubuntu4) builds; with all gfortran packages removed, installing it pulls in gfortran, and the *unchanged* fortran-regex 1.1.2-13 builds (the same source fails without the change). The extra cost is only that gfortran gets installed in builds that use dh-fortran with flang/lfortran only, which Debian's buildds already do anyway. With this in dh-fortran, the fortran-regex/fortran-stdlib deltas can be dropped at their next sync. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169800 Title: fortran-regex, fortran-stdlib FTBFS on Launchpad: "gfortran | fortran- compiler" satisfied by flang-22/lfortran, gfortran not installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dh-fortran/+bug/2169800/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
