Still reproduces on Ubuntu 24.04 (noble), xdg-utils 1.1.3-4.1ubuntu3,
GNOME.

Any `xdg-settings set default-url-scheme-handler <scheme> <app>.desktop`
also sets `text/html` to that app. Reproduced on 2026-10-09: registering
`grokbot://` for `grok-bot.desktop` changed `text/html` from
`firefox_firefox.desktop` to `grok-bot.desktop`. Electron apps hit this
the same way Telegram did in the original report.

Upstream fixed this in xdg-utils 1.2.0 on 2023-08-09 (Joe Mou, "Fix
set_url_scheme_handler_gnome3 to not associate text/html handler"). The
1.2.1 script drops the no-argument `set_browser_mime "$2"` call and
checks `get_browser_mime "$MIME"`. Debian and Ubuntu 25.10/26.04 already
ship 1.2.1. Please backport that fix to noble.
