Debian status: 4ti2 1.6.15+ds-1 is in testing on ppc64el; its buildd build (2026-03-21, gcc 15.2.0-15, glibc 2.42, gmp 6.3.0) ran test/ppi and it passed. Since the Ubuntu failure also happens at -O0, the cause is the Ubuntu toolchain/runtime (IEEE 128-bit long double ABI, gcc 15.3, or glibc 2.43/2.44), not the build flags. ppi.cpp doesn't use long double itself, so a newer gcc/glibc is the more likely suspect, unverified.
Not investigating further this cycle. Fallback if nobody picks it up: remove the ppc64el binaries of 4ti2 (and whatever becomes uninstallable there, e.g. barvinok) so 1.6.15+ds-1 and barvinok can migrate on the other architectures. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170794 Title: 4ti2 FTBFS on ppc64el: 4ti2-ppi test fails (likely -O3/LTO), blocks barvinok To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/4ti2/+bug/2170794/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
