I decided to switch the fix to src:sssd, due to the blast radius of src:shadow (everyone has it installed, even systems not affected by the bug). But while writing the patch, I saw that it silences all the sssd tools, not just sss_cache. So now I'm pondering about fixing it in src:cloud-init, and filed https://github.com/canonical/cloud- init/issues/7170 for discussion with the cloud-init developers.
cloud-init also has a large blast radius, and same issue as src:shadow. Every system has it installed, even unaffected ones. So we might still go for an sssd fix for the SRU, but the devel release of ubuntu (tenacious) might be fixed differently. ** Bug watch added: github.com/canonical/cloud-init/issues #7170 https://github.com/canonical/cloud-init/issues/7170 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2153951 Title: no config.ldb file under /var/lib/sss/db in 26.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shadow/+bug/2153951/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
