(In reply to passelaigue.florian from comment #39) Hi Florian, thanks again: your analysis is why board 8D9F is in patch v2. To add you as a Tested-by on the patch, the test has to be of the patch itself. Your comment #39 confirms the firmware bug and the ACPI table fix, but not the kernel patch.
If you have time, either of these is enough: 1. Build your kernel with patch v2 applied (on CachyOS, add it to the linux-cachyos PKGBUILD's source/patch list): https://patch.msgid.link/[email protected] 2. Or use testyfishy's DKMS module (https://github.com/testyfishy/hp-omnibook-flip16-touchscreen-fix) after adding "8D9F" to the board list in hp-elan-irq-route.patch. It is the same fix as v2. Before testing, remove the ACPI table fix (sudo hp-touch-irq-fix uninstall, then reboot), otherwise it hides whether the patch works. After booting with the patch, these should show the pen working and the touchscreen interrupt count staying low (a few per second when idle, not around 630): grep ELAN2514 /proc/interrupts; sleep 10; grep ELAN2514 /proc/interrupts If it works and you are happy to be credited, please reply with one line in this form, using the name and email you want shown publicly in the kernel git history: Tested-by: Your Name <[email protected]> -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2142384 Title: ELAN2514:00 (04F3:4428) stylus report rate extremely low (~10–25 Hz) on Ubuntu 24.04 kernel 6.17 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2142384/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
