(In reply to Waqar Gulzar from comment #46)

Tested the kernel patch itself on board 8D9F, with the ACPI table fix
removed.

Setup
model : HP OmniBook X Flip Laptop 14-fm0xxx
  board : 8D9F, BIOS F.08
  digitizer : ELAN2514:00 04F3:442A
  kernel : 7.2.9-1-cachyos (clang 23.1.1, ThinLTO)
patch : drivers/hid/i2c-hid/i2c-hid-acpi.c from v7.2.9, plus the patch
from your repo (patches/0001-...) with the 8D9F DMI entry added
as in v2 (I could not fetch the v2 mbox itself: lore returns 403
to scripts). Applied cleanly, built as an out-of-tree module
with LLVM=1 W=1: no warnings. Installed in updates/, srcversion
of the loaded module checked against the built one.

ACPI table fix removed first: "hp-touch-irq-fix uninstall", acpi_override
dropped from the mkinitcpio HOOKS, initramfs regenerated, reboot.
0 "Table Upgrade: override" lines on the test boot.

Results (hands off the screen)
                           after boot after s2idle (rtcwake -m mem -s 20)
  GPP_E_18 PADCFG0 0x80100102 0x80100102
  idle ELAN IRQ rate 0/s (10 s) 0/s (10 s)
  incomplete report 0 0
"failed to restore interrupt routing" : never logged

For comparison, on this board's stock firmware without any fix: PADCFG0
0x80000102 and ~628 IRQ/s (comment #39).
With the patch, pen and touch work normally, including switching between
finger and pen. No new ACPI or i2c-hid errors; the two messages seen after
resume
(\GUAM.ODV5 AE_NOT_FOUND, ucsi_acpi "failed to re-enable notifications")
also appear on earlier boots without the patch, so they are unrelated.
