Same issue here on a desktop RX 7900 XTX (XFX Speedster Merc 310, Navi 31, DCN 3.2, 1002:744c): Pink/magenta block artefacts in the lower part of the screen, triggered by screen updates (e.g. video playback in Firefox, especially when moving the window around). Screenshots don’t capture them (or I couldn't manage to time it correctly).
Kernels: 7.0.0-31: fine 7.0.0-34: fine 7.0.0-38: affected Refresh rate dependence: Artefacts only at 2560x1440 @ 239.96 Hz. 59.95, 120 and 144 Hz are clean (or at least I did not notice any). Unlike the original report, 120+ Hz seems fine for me, presumably because the 7900 XTX has more display bandwidth headroom than the 860M. Setup: two 2560x1440 monitors on DisplayPort, Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon, X11, Mesa 25.2.8, linux-firmware-amd-graphics 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu3.3, DMUB firmware 0x07002A00. The Ryzen 7000 iGPU is also enabled but drives no display. Windows on the same hardware has no artefacts. No amdgpu errors, underflow or link training messages in dmesg while the artefacts occur. Tried without effect: amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x410 and 0x412, FreeSync disabled on both monitors. I have the Overdrive flag enabled but currently using clocks/voltage/power limit at stock. The same regression appears upstream across several DCN generations (7900 GRE, 9070 XT, 780M, 890M): https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2512106 Let me know if you would like me to attach logs or additional info. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #2512106 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2512106 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2171958 Title: pink/magenta artefacts at bottom of external USB-C DisplayPort monitor above 60 Hz on Radeon 860M (DCN 3.5) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-7.0/+bug/2171958/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
