Public bug reported:

After upgrading linux-generic-hwe-24.04 from 7.0.0-34.34~24.04.1 to
7.0.0-38.38~24.04.4, an external monitor connected via USB-C (DP alt
mode) shows pink/magenta block artefacts whenever screen content changes
(scrolling, moving windows). The artefacts only ever appear in the
bottom part of the screen.

- 2560x1440 @ 165 Hz: artefacts
- 2560x1440 @ 120 Hz: artefacts
- 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz: no artefacts
- Booting 7.0.0-34-generic: no artefacts at 165 Hz (same userspace, same Mesa)

No amdgpu errors, underflow messages or link training failures are
logged in dmesg on 7.0.0-38.

Possibly related: LP: #2169193 (same kernel range, "flickering stripe"
on RX 7600 via HDMI, also fixed by booting 7.0.0-34).

Hardware:
- Laptop: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14AKP10 (83JY), BIOS QTCN34WW
- CPU/GPU: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 w/ Radeon 860M, PCI 1002:1114 (rev c2),
Display Core v3.2.369 on DCN 3.5, DMUB firmware 0x09003F00
- Monitor: MSI MAG275C QD E2, 2560x1440, 48-180 Hz, connected via USB-C,
  appears as DisplayPort-1 in X
- Internal eDP panel is disabled while the external monitor is in use

Software:
- Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon (Ubuntu 24.04 base), X11
- Mesa 25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.4
- linux-firmware 20240318.git3b128b60.0ubuntu3.1
- Kernel command line: quiet splash (no amdgpu parameters)

Attached (amdgpu-usbc-pink-artefacts-logs.tar.gz):
- dmesg-7.0.0-38.txt kernel log, boot on affected kernel
- dmesg-7.0.0-34.txt kernel log, boot on working kernel
- xrandr-verbose-7.0.0-34.txt
- lspci-nnk.txt
- monitor-edid.bin (serial number removed)
