Update on the upstream fix: Alex Markuze reviewed it (Reviewed-by), and Ilya
Dryomov applied it to the ceph-client testing branch on Oct 30:
https://github.com/ceph/ceph-client/commit/0189a0d3bfe5

It carries Fixes: 5d6451b1489a ("ceph: shut down access to inode when
async create fails") and Cc: stable, so it should reach the stable trees
once it is merged into mainline. It is not in mainline yet; it was
applied after the 7.4-rc1 CephFS pull.

The patch as posted applies cleanly to Ubuntu's 7.0.0-38
(fs/ceph/locks.c and fs/locks.c there match v7.0). Could the kernel team
consider it for the 7.0 kernels once it lands upstream?
