Reproduced this on a second VM, independently of the original report.

Environment:
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, linux-image-azure 7.0.0-1017.17~24.04.1 (same build as
reported)
VM size: Standard_B4as_v2, region Germany West Central

Accelerated Networking enabled at the time of the crash; Mellanox VF (mlx5_core
loaded)
Uptime at oops: ~160854 s (~45 h), date of crash: [Datum]

Same signature as the original report: RIP strlen+0x0/0x30, identical
call chain via kernfs_remove_by_name_ns → sysfs_remove_bin_file →
pci_remove_resource_files → pci_stop_bus_device → hv_eject_device_work,
and the same "kworker exited with irqs disabled" note. Slightly
different fault address (0x40000 instead of 0x0) and different hv_pci
instance/kworker, but otherwise matching.

Full serial console Oops including the "note: kworker/u16:4[329995]
exited with irqs disabled" line is attached as [Dateiname].

Aftermath: VM unresponsive, recovery only via stop

Since this is the second independent occurrence on a different VM size
(B4as_v2 vs. D2as_v5) and both with Mellanox VFs, this does not appear
to be tied to a specific VM SKU or VF driver.

** Attachment added: "Full serial console Oops (B4as_v2, second independent
occurrence"
