This has also occurred to me too. I fixed this by reverting to 0ubuntu3.3 and holding on 0ubuntu3.4 until further notice. Currently, my system is working as usual.
**Relevant Hardware and software configuration** GPU: XFX Radeon RX 9070GRE, PCI ID: 1002:7550 OS: Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon 64-bit Current Kernel: 7.0.0-38-generic* *It was previously 7.0.0-42 before attempting to revert to 7.0.0-38-generic because I assumed it was a kernel version problem. This occurred before I decided to change 0ubuntu3.4 to 0ubuntu3.3. **Symptoms** 1. A brief extra line was added as Mint was booting up, which doesn't happen under a normal situation for me. Unfortunately, I forgot to record the exact line as it only appeared for a brief second. 2. Black screen with a "no input" signal from my monitor after passing the Mint logo. Leaving the monitor for around 10-30 minutes did nothing as the black screen persisted. **Affected Firmware and Workaround** Affected firmware: linux-firmware-amd-graphics 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu3.4 (same as Cameron Minor (penguinzrock1999)). Workaround: After booting into the system using nomodeset and opening the Terminal, I reverted back to 0buntu3.3 using this source ( https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmint/comments/1xo6jg2/for_those_affected_by_the_very_recent_update_from/ ) which contains more information. **Notes** As this is the first major bug I experienced and providing help to remove, I am not knowledgeable of the technicalities that resulted in it. Sorry for that. However, for now I will retain 0ubuntu3.3 until a fix is provided. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2173041 Title: black screen after upgrading linux-firmware-amd-graphics to 0ubuntu3.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware-amd-graphics/+bug/2173041/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
