@awen My brightness keys are recognized by hal. The brightness adjustment works when using the nv-driver (nvidia kernel module loaded). But when the nvidia-driver is loaded (' Driver "nvidia" ' under ' Section "Device" ' in xorg.conf) the adjustment doesn't work! The nvidia-driver seems to block/break the brightness adjustment.
