@FriedChicken: I also have a Pi 1505. The only way I could get sound to work was building alsa from source (a-m a-i alsa), and adding the option "model=3stack-dig"as suggested by blacksmith above. Unfortunately, that option adds a useless "master" mixer. I'll try with this latest kernel today.
