Thank you for clarifying that Florian. My hosts file doesn't contain a line for localhost, but if I ping localhost, it replies from 127.0.0.1 just as it would if it were listed in the hosts file. In Windows, the hosts file explicitly lists localhost, so for my curiosity does anyone know where localhost is defined in Ubuntu? Sincerely, Brain Cell
