findutils has always had a pre-depends on libc6. However, until Intrepid libc6 did not have a dependency on findutils. Now that it does, it is not possible to use apt-get to go from the state of neither libc6 nor findutils being installed to the state where either or both is installed. Findutils can't be installed because libc6 isn't already installed, and libc6 can't be installed because its dependency findutils is uninstallable.
