"M4S2" is "Microsoft ISO MPEG-4 video V1.1" (as per
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms867195.aspx)

There's a sample M4S2 video at:

Please download that and test it; does it give you the same video
issues? (don't worry about the sound; it doesn't have any ;)

In Feisty, try installing gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg and libxine1-ffmpeg and
then try playing it in gXine and Totem; does it work now? :)

Onno Benschop is right about this; if a company is using Ubuntu they
likely will (well... they *should* anyway! ;) have it set up such that
most users cannot install packages by themselves.
