I marked this bug as duplicate, as bug 211631 seems to perfectly fit
your description. The long thread of comments there points to a possible
workaround.

Bug description:
Shutting down my psubuntu i often stalls with the following message:
[1505.324329] CIFS VFS: server not responding
[1505.324504] CIFS VFS: No response for cmd 114 mid...
I also get a similar error message with cmd 51, will post this error text once
it comes up again.
