I specifically referred to the Stable Release process for this reason rather then suggesting a full backport. Since the 1.3.x branch upstream already has the changes you need, they just need to be cherry-picked and have test cases for them to go into Lucid.

But 1.3.23 has loads of bugfixes, especially in regard to cookie parsing. This shouldn't be too hard as it's not a major version change.
