Hi

have been noticing a problem if files are open when a computer is shutdown.

Now, am not sure what used to happen earlier but 'thought' that if files
were open and shutdown was implemented the OS asked what to do with open
files esp. indicating if a file(s) was in unsaved condition and
continued with shutdown only after the open files unsaved files were
attended to.

However, now , Ubuntu just shuts down a computer without asking what to
do with the open files and the next time we start up and try and open a
particular file, it says 'try and recover the file(s)' (only for open
Openoffice files) am not sure what it does to other files.

So any idea whats happening, is this a bug or what ??
