Which sites, so that we can try them out?

However, my guess would be that your DNS is acting up.
Indian ISPs are notorious for this. The good news is
that you can run your own caching nameserver. Install
bind9, and set your nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf to
127.0.0.1. As this file is overwritten on a new network
connection, you will need to set this permanently, say
with NetworkManager.
