Problem with the field "Description" of a package

I've managed to go through all the steps to create a signed ubuntu package, but one : the field description of the resulting binary package doesn't reflect the description in the file /debian/control.
My control file looks the same as the one in the previous package already in Dapper, and also has a space at the beginning of each paragraph. What prevents it to be used for the description in the binary package?

(Note : I'm using debhelper).
