You can delete the .wav's you're not using from the folder "audiofiles" in your session folder. (go to "interchange" -> "session name" -> "audiofiles") it's what ardour supposed to do. You can see the name of the audiofiles you're using at bottom of each recorded track. that may free some large space in your session.
