And by 'did not work' I mean qjackctl wouldn't start in firewire 'mode' at all. I assume this is a bug somewhere, and would like to narrow it down if I am able to. I think I will also test using stock Ubuntu 12.04 to see if the bug is not present there. I am guessing the bug is either in qjackctl or ffado... any suggestions? I really appreciate the help you all have provided, and thank you for making it so easy to install all the things I install normally :)
