Are you using proprietary graphics drivers? Which package?

Might be you are missing kernel headers (normally, you wouldn't) in
order for the drivers to build. Each time you update to a new kernel,
and if you have proprietary drivers installed, a kernel module needs to
be built for that driver (using dkms).
