Thank you for pointing out this, Kelemen. However I don't know how to include a newline when the string isn't already considered multiline in Launchpad. How is this done?
TLE is right that this is an i18n error which must be fixed in unity. But I guess we can patch it for now. Presumably the fix will be to add proper translator comments on the maximum length of each of the strings. ** Changed in: ubuntu-translations Status: Fix Committed => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Translations Coordinators, which is subscribed to Ubuntu Translations. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900722 Title: Titles in primary Unity screen wrongfully hyphenated in Danish Status in Ubuntu Translations: In Progress Bug description: In the primary Unity screen there are 8 buttons, for different kinds of programs and certain recommended programs. One of these buttons is the one for internet programs. In Danish this is made into a single word and it is then to wide to fit in the space alloted, which leads to Unity dividing the word at the letter where there is no more space, instead of dividing the word according to the grammatic rules (See attached screenshot). Proposed solution: Allow translators to put a hyphen in the word where it should be divided, and follow that in Unity. E.g. instead of translating it to: "Internetprogrammer" we would translate it to "Internet-programmer" and Unity should then show it as: "Internet- programmer" Regards Kenneth To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/900722/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-translations-coordinators Post to : ubuntu-translations-coordinators@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-translations-coordinators More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
