Hi, the translations for the Compiz package comes from the ddtp-main component, and in Italian they have been translated since 2009, albeit with an error that I fixed now.
This is not an Italian translation issue, but I guess it is better to take a look in general if this is a problem with other languages too, or a cache problem as there once was with apt and software center (problem of which I can't remember the bug number or the possible fix).
