I have installed kubuntu 6.06 and version 6.10 onto different partitions, with a shared swap partition and a common partition for /home.
For each version I use the same login details. My intention is to continue using 6.06 as I have been and occasionally have a go with 6.10 to assess any differences. I was initially surprised, although I suppose I should not have been, that the second install (6.10) shared the desktop wallpaper and various icons with the first install (!) - same /home of course. :-( Thinking about it now, it is evident that a lot of user kde stuff will obviously be shared unless I take some avoiding action. What I would like to have is separate and different desktop configurations for each installation, and would be grateful for suggestions about how I now arrange for a different desktop configuration for the 6.10 version. tia -- alan cocks Kubuntu user#10391 -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.kubuntu.org/UKTeam/
