I have found that there is no 'magic bullet' one line that will do exactly what you want. It will very much depend on what the source is, and what the target format is. Therefore, what I have done is make a note of what works for me. These notes are here [1] Some of these are quite old, but should be a good starting point. If one of these commands looks close to what you want, or one from the man pages, make a note of it, and then read the man page to find out exactly what each option is doing. I would suggest that you keep some notes of your own when you find a command that works for your situation. Have fun.
