Hi I'm new to this forum and fairly new to Ubuntu. I've been running 8.10 under Wubi since about Christmas and have been really impressed with the OS and many of the applications. Unfortunately I can't abandon Windows completely yet as I have a large investment in MS Access applications which will take me ages to migrate.
A few days ago I upgraded to 9.04 but was, frankly, disappointed. The application I use most of all is OpenOffice. The upgrade certainly sees boot times reduced, but OOO Base takes approx 10 times as long to load, Calc 5 times and Writer 3 times. Similarly, they take much longer to unload. Is this problem peculiar to me? I'm seriously considering downgrading back to 8.10 if I can't find a solution. Regards Nige
