If you read the rest of the thread you would have seen someone else had the *exact same problem* (http://www.adsm.org/forum/showpost.php?s=9b832674e126cd677929105ec4551102&p=64108&postcount=5) and fixed it by adding the "directory the file is in (/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin by default or should be in /usr/lib/libgpfs.so ) to /etc/ld.so.conf" as suggested in http://www.adsm.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8552
You should also note the thread you reference discusses 64-bit 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope), whereas Hardy Heron is 8.04. Are you also installing on a 64-bit machine?
