I just want to thank both Mikes on the mailing list here for their modem help. This really is a special mailing list close to my heart! I will update the list once I iron everything out for this Ubuntu user. He has had many linux users attempt to help him and eventually they have all faded away. I am really positive & hopeful that I will solve this issue for him.
