If your decryption key is in your web browser, you don't have end-to-end encryption and that is of limited security value also. Protonmail makes it easier to have some increased security that's protected against interception across intervening mail servers, but - unless your PGP key is actually on your machine and not being shared with a third-party application to do the decryption (which, Protonmail's javascript running in your browser is a third-party application), it's not end-to-end. By all means, do explore with Protonmail, it's better than the default for email secrecy!
