Neither the version in proposed (2.6.3-0ubuntu9.2) nor the one from x-swat (2.7.1-0ubuntu1~xup~1) actually fix this bug. I can reproduce it by simply deceasing CPU frequency as much as possible and starting up 4 glxgears. The freeze usually occurs within one minute. With Albert Damen's patch, the version from jaunty-proposed ran for the whole night (>6hrs) under these conditions.
