Hi, I am a newbie so sorry if I miss some information. I am currently working in Linux Mint 10 "Isadora" and had the same problems as described above. I uninstalled the 'fglrx' driver and restarted mint. After reboot Mixxx works just fine with or without waveforms (Visuals 1 or Visuals 0). I hope this helps.
