The driver doesn't support PowerXpress yet, so those commands are expected to 
fail. Also by changing links to libraries you risk breaking your system.

Try typing "sudo ldconfig"

Also, please attach the output of the following commads:
1) ldconfig -p | grep libati
2) update-alternatives --display gl_conf

There's no need to run "aticonfig --initial" as fglrx now works even without 
xorg.conf.
