Last release (10.10) we waited  around 2 months for AaronP and Alberto Milone 
could come up with good packages.
(Don't get me wrong. These guys are doing a fantastic job!)
It now seems as this history will repeat itself.

Is there any suggestions on how the community can contribute
constructively or do we have to accept the fact that our HW might be to
old to keep up?

Also, not forget. The system works very well with Ubuntu classic and
default drivers so the only thing we are missing out on is Unity.
