Upstream has closed the bug as fixed by removing the 3d pipeline for core rendering (855ced5a4eb67e287001ae22cb6489639c548cfa) - this is a ~300 line patch which mostly deletes a bunch of code. It's unclear to me how safe this is, so not certain if this could be considered SRU- worthy.
Patch is attached if anyone wants to give it a try. Might need some massaging to get it to apply to natty's -intel. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #28798 http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28798 ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel Importance: Medium => Unknown ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel Status: Invalid => Unknown ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel Remote watch: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #30157 => freedesktop.org Bugzilla #28798 ** Patch added: "rm-3d-pipeline.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/719831/+attachment/2176605/+files/rm-3d-pipeline.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/719831 Title: [arrandale] Strange artifacts related to the xorg's intel driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/719831/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
