I received the advice about blacklisting the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau driver in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf , from yofel at ubuntu+1 # on irc.freenode.org . I did this at the tty as root in the recovery kernel , and this workaround works for my setup. Previous to the workaround I reinstalled the nvidia-current driver , sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-current . Then I did, sudo nvidia-xconfig to set xorg.conf . Not sure if the nvidia reinstall is absolutely necessary, but nvidia-xconfig is advisable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/810647 Title: [10de:08a0] nvidia isn't loading To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/810647/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
