Boot issues apparently not related to nvidia-96 proposed (96.43.20-0ubuntu1~natty1). I temporarily resolved the boot issue by adding 'nopat' in grub2 per: <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/537218> [" Failed to allocate video memory" nvidia-current on lucid]
Workaround: $ gksu gedit /etc/default/grub modify: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nopat" save. $ sudo update-grub reboot. I've cold-booted & rebooted multiple times now & each time works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/741930 Title: [natty] nvidia binary packages for older cards - dependencies not met To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/741930/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
