** Description changed: When I boot into my machine after upgrade to Precise I am unable to move my mouse pointer on the screen using my touchpad. As a workaround I can load psmouse proto=exps and have basic mouse functionality. The expected and desired behaviour is to have my mouse working out of the box and for it to support gestures such as two finger scrolling etc out of the box. psmouse proto=exps only gives basic functionality and no gesture support. xinput list shows the following: ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ DualPoint Stick id=12 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad id=13 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=6 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Sony Vaio Keys id=7 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=8 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=9 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ USB2.0 Camera id=10 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=11 [slave keyboard (3)] System information: Sony VIAO VPCSA-290x Kernel 3.2.0-18-generic Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch) Release: 12.04 I have attached device.prop and will attach device.record from evemu-describe and evemu-record commands as described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/Testing/uTouchEvEmu#Debugging ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: linux-image-3.2.0-18-generic 3.2.0-18.28 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-18.28-generic 3.2.9 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-18-generic x86_64 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
