Forwarding this bug from Ubuntu reporter Alexander Schlarb:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/976489

[Problem]
GPU lockup associated with using 3D apps and external monitors.

[Original Description]
This bug seems to happen quite often when using several 3D applications at the
same time if an external monitor was plugged in at some point but was removed
later. I always had GNOME shell, cairo-dock and Minecraft running while I
experienced the lookup.
