Used patched kernel 3.2.5 in post #103. Still freezes completely with gnome classic with effects on i5-3570k, z77 mb combo. Played openarena for an hour or so, surfed the web, then shut down no problem. Booted system 7 hours later and it locked up a few minutes later while surfing the net. Going to try 3.3.6 since I have no other alternative. I love Ubuntu but this bug is getting on my nerves.
